Finished my initial lil project for Phantom Eye and it feels so good!!

I am considering making a post with all of them combined, but that might take a lil more time to do. I had to do some tweaks to the designs and will need to take a look at them with fresh eyes before I can move onto making a batch. I suppose no design is ever officially done, but I want to make sure I'm happy with the current take, you know?

I plan on doing more things for Phantom Eye, some of which I can't share online mainly because it contains like spoilers and/or requires more things to be fleshed out. I don't know if this is going to become an "official" story of mine that I just regularly post like a comic or something, but I do want to enjoy the ride of designing things and figuring out story bits and all that jazz. That said, that means I want to be careful about how much I share in case I do end up making this story proper.

This gives me an opportunity to really think about what I can share and what I need to hold back on Just In Case. It's interesting to approach things like this. I already figured out things for Erru and Shushi's tale, but Phantom Eye I need more time to figure things out with. It does mean it'll be another project where I secretly lament about how much I want to share things, but I caaaaan't because Spoilers weeeeeh (it's kind of a fun feeling though - does that even make sense?).

Anyways, this is a good time for me to figure out some tech things since my last two works for Phantom Eye look more saturated online than they are supposed to be. Like, yes, they're vibrant designs, but they're not supposed to be that vibrant, you know? I just don't understand the change because things were fine up until this. I've not messed with any settings anywhere so I'm not even certain where exactly to look. I might have to try and fiddle with things in more than one program. I've been using Procreate mostly, having gotten used to it being the only program I had access to when I was away from home in 2019 and just never had an opportunity to do more than just a random fiddling with Clip Studio or just to like do a quick fix in it before making a piece postable. Now I might be using it to further my exploration of my pieces, especially if it might help with this weird saturation thing happening. (I've been wanting to get back into Clip Studio Paint though because I was just getting into the groove when Life happened and I had  to drop everything, including playing around in CSP so this would be good motivation to bring it back into my life again - I love the program!)

Posting it online isn't the only odd thing. Opening the files in Clip Studio shows the upped vibrancy even though when I open the file in Preview it's exactly as it should be. So I don't know how one can view it the way it was made and another doesn't. But if I can fiddle with things in Clip Studio then I'm sure that might solve the issue for submitting online. I just want to make sure I figure this out because Phantom Eye has that contrast between the vibrancy and the bold, black shadows and if that's altered in any way it shifts the balance I've figured out for it.

If this does become a comic I would have to consider the potential for it to become physical though and that's where I'm not certain if I should pursue this too far because vibrant colours don't translate well to paper v: But that would be so far in the future. Besides I don't wanna worry about something that might not even happen. But the main view would be online so I gobba figure out what is up with this inexplicable change because it's not supposed to look like that oversaturated mess. :s

For the moment though, I'm thinking about designing other key figures (most of which I can't show when they're done, alas!) but also just some fun moments or nonsensical things like fashion shoots or something. I just wanna play around and have fun. Phantom Eye gives me an opportunity to play around in a different playground than Erru and Shushi's tale and it's sooo nice to have both. I know I have a bajillion other things I play around with, too, but it's neat to me that I have projects like these that keep coming back to give me ideas to have fun with. It's great!

It's nice that the few comments I've received are on how much they like the style. Of course there's the love on the animals (animals are great so of course I totes get that). The style is just something I really wanted to nail and to have it commented on as being solid just makes me so happy. I even had a couple people ask if it was a real thing or going to be a thing and just aaaaah I have so many hearts and stars and flowers over my head. I know it's silly, but I'm so delighted by this.

Anyways, I'll share my art here, too when I've got this saturation thing figured out. It is up on my ko-fi and socials if you don't wanna wait and don't care that the works are slightly off. I really am happy about completing this Phantom Eye set and just wanna share it all over<3
